A Visual Learner

Child Sweater and Cap, Whippletree Yarn Shop

As a small child, with minimal knitting skills, I’d study my mother creating a patterned sweater for one of us. Then I would find a ball of scrap yarn, a pair of needles (not necessarily matching) and secret myself in a corner with joyous intensity. Ripping and starting over until I was pretty sure I had it, I would finally show the patch to my mother.  “Is this right?” I’d ask. She’d look at it, a little surprised, smile and say “yes”. Now many years later I am still a visual learner; show me, give me a diagram, a picture, or a line drawing, and I’m much happier than with the written word.

However you learn, we are here to help. Whether you are just getting started or want to be a better knitter, stop in with your questions, our “help” desk is always open. Also, there’s no need to be stuck on a project, let us help you out of your jam and keep those needles moving.

Smile, relax and knit.
